The Ann Arbor T-shirt Company, composed of approximately 48 artists, screen printers, art technicians, logistics professionals, embroiderers, and support staff, is situated in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We proudly design, print, and embroider the majority of our products completely in our own factory.

The company's origin traces back to a dorm room project between two friends at the University of Michigan. What sets our products apart is our commitment to fair treatment of our workers, who receive healthcare, 401(k) matching, and catered employee meals. Additionally, the majority of our machines, inks, and inputs are sourced from the U.S., and our shirts are predominantly made from American-grown cotton. By producing in-house, we are able to maintain high quality standards while keeping prices low.

At the heart of our operation is a deep passion for giving people fun and engaging ways to express themselves and connect with their communities. This is exemplified by our latest product, the world-famous maneki-neko cat, featured in a beautiful illustrated screen print.

The fabric composition of this item is 50% cotton and 50% polyester, with care instructions for machine washing. The product's origin is a combination of being made in the USA and imported.

The shirt features a modern, slightly tapered fit that is less boxy than traditional mass-market t-shirts. It is pre-shrunk, but like any high-cotton garment, may still shrink slightly after washing. Our model photos showcase the actual shirt on our sales representative, Rich, who stands at 6'2" and 200 lbs, wearing a size large.

The fabric is a soft, smooth, 30/1 fine jersey knit, made from a blend of ringspun USA-grown cotton and polyester. This mid-weight material offers a nice balance between comfort and durability, being lighter than typical gym class t-shirts but still substantial enough to avoid being see-through.

We use high-quality QCM screen printing inks, manufactured in Pineville, North Carolina. These inks are vibrant, durable, and highly crack-resistant. While some of our designs feature intentionally faded or cracked looks, our inks always deliver the desired result, thanks to the skilled work of our printers and top-of-the-line printing equipment.

Safety and environmental responsibility are also priorities for us. QCM, our ink supplier, has been at the forefront of the industry, phasing out phthalates over 10 years ago, and their products are rated as carcinogen-free by the state of California.
